My Visit With Maruge

I took my first step out of the airplane into Kenya, I was bundled up in a jacket and scarf knew it was time to take it of. Maruge was waiting for me right outside of the airplane gate and I was so happy to see him. After that stinky small plane ride it was nice to see his happy smiling face. He took my coat and we stepped into the cab and all I could see at that moment was  Kenya and its beautiful colors. I saw many small market places where they sold ugali pie and posho juice. We drove a few hours until we got out of the busy city and ended up at a unpaved road and on that road we found Maruges village. All his friends where waiting for him screaming Maruge home Maruge home they where so excited. When Maruge re-united with his friends I slept and all I thought about as I entered the small brown house was what has Maruge planned for us tomorrow.  When Maruge woke me up he nudged me and told me to put my bathing suite. So I threw my clothes on as I shivered the whole time. We had a few pepper sausages for breakfast and headed slowly skipping down to the cold lake in front of the brown cracking dirt house. We splashed freezing cold drops of water at each other and he picked me up and threw me into the ice water that felt like the Titanic. We had so much fun I could taste the salty finish of the lake water and I splashed out of the lake shivering and laying down on the brown dirty platform next to the lakes rocky sides. Maruge and I then went to ride elephants in his friends village. The elephants where amazing they had millions of colors patterns and sizes on his big cape/blanket rapped around his large rough skin. I grabbed onto one of the ropes attached to the cape/blanket and pulled myself up. Once I got up onto his back with Maruge I felt alive and very free. The smell of air, trees, and dusty dirt was like I was living for the last time  that moment I won't ever forget because my life paused just as I grabbed onto the rough tight skin of the elephants back and held on for dear life.

Day 1: beautiful colors...ugali...posho...Maruge throwing you into the water-I like imagining that scene...elephant ride, great description of your senses there...beautiful photos (although the elephant looks like it is in India?)
Day 2: I looked and looked, and I was so excited to continue your visit, but I couldn't find anything. I love traveling with you so much and I just know you and Maruge were about to have some life-changing times and lessons together. I would really like you to continue your visit somehow. Rewatch the trailer to refresh your memory, book another plane or awake from a long sleep in Maruge's mud-cracked house, and visit Maruge again. For me...for Maruge...for you.
